Meet Our Administrative Interns for 2025

Brighter Hope Wellness Center (BHWC) continues to offer internship opportunities where students can gain professional experience in the mental health field. We are excited to introduce our newest interns, who have made notable additions to our team these last few months. Read on to learn more about these two wonderful ladies!

Whitney Octavious (Administrative Intern)

Administrative Intern
Brighter Hope Wellness Center Administrative Intern (2024-2025)
I am a recent graduate of Catholic University of America in DC, with a degree in Psychology and Brain Sciences (BS). I have always loved psychology since my AP Psychology class in high school after being fascinated with the fact that the brain is a small 3-pound organ that controls your thoughts, feelings, wants, desires, fears, and habits.
My years of education and experience have fueled my interest in helping young children and adolescents, from their growing attachment years to navigating their newfound independence, and everything in between. There are so many profound milestones that take place in a person’s life from toddlerhood to puberty, and I am excited to get some hands-on experience here at BHWC and help client’s grow into happy and healthy people.
I am kind and understanding and try to create a warm and engaging environment amongst family and friends; and I look forward to carrying out this mindset through my aspirations of completing my training and certification of becoming an RBT and eventually becoming a pediatrician.

Charolette Smith (Administrative Intern)

Charlotte Smith - admin intern Summer 2025
Brighter Hope Wellness Center Admin Intern (Summer 2025)

I am a rising senior at Colgate University in New York and am spending my summer as the Administrative Intern at BHWC! I am majoring in psychology and minoring in education and am very passionate about developmental and educational psychology. I am compelled by how broad the field of psychology is and how it can be applied in understanding almost any human behavior.

I have always been most interested in investigating childhood and the learning process through a psychological lens and have collaborated with my professors on research surrounding learning, motivation, sleep, and academic achievement. I am eager to gain experience with the clinical side of psychology at BHWC and learn more about the treatment process by working alongside the professionals here! I aspire to pursue a master’s degree in clinical psychology following my graduation next May.
