Sieanna Holstein, BS, Clinical Psychology Practicum Intern

Sieanna Holstein, B.S. Clinical Psychology Practicum Intern

I am a Clinical Psychology Practicum Intern practicing and training under the supervision of Dr. Claudia Salter and Dr. Cindy T. Graham at Brighter Hope Wellness Center.

I am specifically interested in the diagnosis and treatment options of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other neurodevelopmental disorders in children and adolescents. In addition, I am interested in anxiety, depression, PTSD, and mood disorders.

My orientation is psychodynamic therapy. I strive to further my orientation into a multicultural one because I want to develop my understanding of different cultures and backgrounds as I prepare to become a clinical psychologist.

I believe in recovering meaning in the client’s life, being culturally aware of different therapeutic techniques to help diverse populations, paying attention to body language and the feelings in the room, the development of personality, and understanding clients having both adaptive and maladaptive behaviors.

I most value education, honesty, personal identity, inclusion, and resilience in my life. I regularly engage in self-reflection to reexamine my values and identity to determine how they can be incorporated into my therapeutic practice for improvement.

I see clients of all ages for therapy work and assessments.

I received my B.S. in psychology from Towson University and I am currently a second-year student in the Doctor of Clinical Psychology program at Stevenson University. Also, I am a Direct Support Professional and Day-to-Day Administrator for young adults with disabilities in Baltimore County. I have experience as a Clinical Assistant in the Neurobehavioral Unit at Kennedy Krieger Institute and as a program instructor at the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism, Institute for Well-Being. Working with such a diverse group of individuals has taught me that there is no one right way to experience the world and the importance of advocating for inclusion.

Aside from my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my dog, watching movies, trying new restaurants with friends, and traveling with my family. In my other spare time, I volunteer at the Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter.

Accepting new clients? Yes.
