Intern

 

The Brighter Hope Wellness Center (BHWC) is taking applications for the position of Intern. BWHC is looking for a highly motivated interns for various roles within the practice including: administrative support, social media, and direct clinical work. Our internship positions are unpaid and therefore represent a wonderful opportunity for undergraduate students to gain experience hours toward their major.

Responsibilities

Administrative Intern:

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Help organize and schedule appointments
  • Attend meetings and take detailed minutes
  • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Maintain filing system
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Help with ordering of office supplies and research new deals and suppliers
  • Maintain contact lists
  • Provide general support to staff and clients when necessary

Clinical Intern

  • Work directly and collaboratively with families and professionals
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • Work consistently to ensure that clients receive the highest quality therapy possible
  • Be punctual, responsible, and professional
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and report to supervisor the details of intake session 
  • Attend periodic supervision meetings for each client
  • Participate in introductory and ongoing training programs that provide instruction
  • Be energetic, engaged, creative, and imaginative when working with individuals who have developmental delays
  • Receive and utilize constructive feedback regarding performance, presentation, and relationships with others. 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student completing a Bachelors degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Counseling, Social Work, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • Master’s and Doctoral level counseling/clinical psychology interns looking to receive supervision hours and hands on experience while providing therapeutic services, assisting in psychological testing, and participating in treatment plans to address client concerns and mental health needs.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • An ability to work with a team
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Excel)
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer/technology skills
