I have been a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) since 2015, following more than 15 years of acute care nursing experience. I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student specializing in Psychiatry at the University of Maryland and training under the supervision of Dr. Cindy T. Graham at Brighter Hope Wellness Center. With over 20 years of nursing experience, including acute, chronic, and critical care settings, I have a strong background in delivering patient-centered holistic care through evidence-based treatment approaches. I am passionate about integrating therapeutic modalities that address both physiological and psychological well-being.
Born in Nigeria and raised in the United States from the age of ten, both cultures have deepened my desire to be part of healthcare to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan. As part of the U.S. Army, I am particularly dedicated to serving my fellow soldiers in bridging the gap in healthcare to reduce mental health stigma, access to quality healthcare, and achieve their mental health goals.
With a strong foundation in both medical and psychiatric knowledge, I bring a holistic approach to mental health treatment, emphasizing the connection between mind and body to help address anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and other psychiatric concerns.
Having a Christian foundation has helped to foster an environment of supportive, therapeutic environment where patients feel heard, valued, and empowered in their mental health journey. I advocate for individualized, patient-centered treatment plans that aim to improve emotional well-being, coping skills, and overall mental health.
Outside of work, I like to travel, work on DIY projects, and spend quality time with loved ones. One of my desires is to apply my skillset in missionary settings to further bridge the gap of limited access to quality healthcare in other countries.
