We offer yoga instruction specifically designed to help you restore balance, tap into your inner strength and flexibility, and be your best. Through accessible yoga movements, reconnect with your body to relieve tension and re-energize. Regulate your emotions by practicing simple breath awareness and breathing techniques scientifically shown to lower blood pressure, oxygenate the brain, and optimize physical systems, including the endocrine and digestive systems. Learn basic meditation to declutter, calm and focus your mind.

Holding a space of compassion and care for oneself can sometimes be the best way we can hold space for others. There is great value for you and wonderful role modeling for your family that takes place when you make time for yourself.

About Yoga Program Provider

Create Calm is a non-profit program developed by INA Wellness to make yoga and mindfulness practices accessible to all children and adults. Through specialized private instruction and unique small group experiences, students enjoy fun, experiential, educational classes in a non-competitive and non-judgmental format focused on developing social and emotional skills as well as building physical strength, flexibility, and resilience. All Create Calm instructors are specially trained to work with children and special populations. Many possess advanced degrees and have experience in the fields of therapy, education, and the arts.

Create Calm is dedicated to developing internal guidance systems for external fortitude through alertness, awareness, compassion, and consistency.

Lisa Danahy (E-RYT 200, RCYT 200, YACEP) is a master yoga instructor and professional trainer with expertise in yoga and meditation for special populations. Her wealth of expertise is founded in the traditions of Kripalu and Kundalini Yoga as well as Ashaya Therapeutic Yoga, Pranakriya Yoga, and Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra. Lisa’s teachings are designed to meet her students where they are and reconnect them with their own power to heal and grow. Her soothing gentle yoga classes, deep meditation techniques, and Yoga Nidra guided relaxations have restored, renewed, and rebalanced individuals nationwide. Her Create Calm Yoga Education for Schools program brings comprehensive, accessible social emotional learning, wellness tutoring, physical and emotional growth and balance, and community-building to schools, educational institutions, and social-service organizations in the Washington, DC area, from Baltimore, MD to Loudoun County, VA. Jean McDonald (RYT 200, Certified Radiant Child Yoga Instructor, MFA in Theatre, BMED) has been practicing yoga since 2000, and it has transformed her life. She believes that listening to your body and following your intuition will lead you to health and vitality, and she enjoys teaching others how to tune in to their own inner guidance as they practice. Jean attended The Institute for Social and Emotional Learning in 2018, and she recently finished special training in Yoga for Children with ADHD, Autism and those who are Differently-abled. Jean is a key member of the Create Calm management team as well as a Radiant Child Yoga Instructor, and she spends a great deal of time each week teaching yoga and mindfulness to children in Maryland and Washington DC.

Before becoming a yoga teacher, Jean had a long-standing career in education and the arts. She taught general music, theatre and creative movement to elementary age students; choral music, public speaking and theatre to middle and high school students; and drama to students with learning disabilities. Jean is thrilled to be blending her experience as an arts educator with her skills as a wellness advocate to empower children of all ages to be their best.

Emily Tremblay (RYT-200, Certified Children's Yoga Instructor, M.Ed. in Montessori Education) has been growing her yoga practice for over 15 years. As her understanding of yoga has deepened, her relationship with it has evolved to become a means of relaxation and stress-relief on the mat as well as a guideline for living off the mat. Sharing the benefits of yoga with others is a great honor and joy.

Throughout her thirteen-year teaching career as an ESL teacher, Montessori guide, and yoga teacher, Emily has taught children of all ages as well as adults. As a Montessori guide, Emily has brought mindfulness and yoga into the classroom and has observed the positive effects that breathing techniques and mindful movement can have on young children. She believes that people of all ages can benefit from slowing down, moving more, and reconnecting with themselves. It is her great passion to guide others on their journey towards stillness and simplicity.

Eunic Pak

(RYT 200, Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor) has worked with children and the elderly population for over 20 years in the healthcare field, rehabilitation, support services for high-risk populations, and early childhood education in both teaching and administrative roles. She has volunteered locally and in impoverished communities overseas as a promoter of community building and wellness.

As a 200-hour yoga instructor and certified children's yoga educator, Eunice continues to combine her experience, her compassion for the lives of others, and her love of working with children and adults to teach them tools for building a healthy and happy life. Being a mom of three young children provides many opportunities for her to put her skills and knowledge to practice on a regular basis and is a humble reminder of our dual roles as teacher and lifelong learner.
